How to get Pregnant » Pregnant Before Ovulation
Pregnant Before Ovulation
Perhaps the best time to get pregnant is during your fertile period which is seven days before, and two days after, ovulation. The human sperm can stay alive and active inside the female for up to five days, so you shouldn't have any problems with getting pregnant before ovulation. That means if the sperm enters the body two days before ovulation, the chances of getting pregnant are high.
The Fertility Schedule
When the ovum, also known as egg, is produced by the ovaries, it travels down the fallopian tubes to the uterus, where it waits to meet sperm and create the fetus. The discharge of the mature ovum is called ovulation and occurs on the 14th day of the 28-day menstrual cycle. In this ideal case, the fertile period starts from Day 7, and ends at Day 16.
Since not all women have a 28 days cycle, some calculations need to be done to find out when exactly you can get pregnant. Therefore, in order to calculate the ovulation days, subtract two weeks from the date of the next period to find out what's your day 7. From that day on, a woman has 7 days in which she can get pregnant before ovulation.
When to Have Sex
The best way to conceive before ovulation is to have sex only a few days prior to the ovulation. Having sexual intercourse five or four days before ovulation can lead to a pregnancy. This is the time in which the sperm can be active, and stay this way until the egg is produced. Increasing the frequency of sex during this fertile period also increases the chances of conceiving and getting pregnant before ovulation.
Planned pregnancies are known to be the most successful. If you want to get pregnant before ovulation, it's wise to try family planning with your partner. By planning your pregnancy you'll know exactly what to do, and when to do it. A visit to the doctor is also advised, preferably from 90 to 120 days prior to conceiving. The doctor can give great advice on how to stay healthy and prepare for a possible pregnancy.
Unplanned Pregnancy before Ovulation
If a woman didn't plan to get pregnant before ovulation, then she will notice that the due date for her period passed and that there was no menstruation. In this case, until a confirmation from the doctor comes, it's better to stay healthy. Not all women go through with unplanned pregnancy, but just in case, you should not take any chances until you reach a final decision.
The only way, in the end, to get pregnant before ovulation is when the sperm is introduced into the vagina within a matter of 24 to 48 hours prior to ovulation. If there is no egg, there will be no baby; it is as simple as that. The only other way would be In Vitro fertilization where eggs are harvested from the mother and introduced to sperm in a liquid within a Petri dish. Any other way would be nothing short of a miracle.
